Britney Spears New Music Video Break The Ice

Britney Spears releases a music video on Wednesday that features the troubled singer as an animated superhero in a futuristic world.

The music video will premiere on Wednesday on dedicated Web site (www.BlackoutBall.com) at 6:30 p.m. EDT and accompanies her latest single "Break The Ice" -- the third from her 2007 album "Blackout."

The release of the video, along with an upcoming acting role on U.S. television comedy "How I Met Your Mother," marks something of a comeback for Spears, 26, whose career has been sidelined by psychiatric problems and months of bitter child custody battles.

Spears' Jive record company said the video was made in South Korea in Japanese anime style. Spears last year released two singles from the "Blackout" album which has sold more than 2 million copies worldwide but whose commercial success pales in comparison to the singer's heyday six years ago.

Ciara "Evolution" Tour

In support of her upcoming sophomore set "Ciara: The Evolution," due Dec. 5 via La Face/Zomba Label Group, Ciara will embark on a 16-city club tour. The trek kicks off Oct. 26 in Washington, D.C., and wraps up Dec. 10 at New York's Nokia Theatre Times Square.

Ciara will perform tracks from the new disc, including "Get Up" and lead single "Promise," as well as previous singles such as "Goodies" and "1, 2 Step," from her 2004 debut "Goodies." That disc peaked at No. 3 on The Billboard 200 and has sold 2.6 million copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

Ciara will also support the Black Eyed Peas Dec. 1 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles and perform at several radio concerts in cities such as Philadelphia, Miami and Hartford, Conn.

"Previewing the new record in a small setting gives my fans an exclusive experience where they can truly hear and see exactly where I'm going," says Ciara. "It's about so much more than just my personal growth -- it's about the evolution of music, the evolution of dance, the evolution of fashion. I want to bring a taste of all that to the fans in a one-on-one environment to get them excited."

The American Music Award nominations, which were announced Tuesday morning by Carmen Electra and Tyrese Gibson at the Beverly Hills Hotel, reflect the unpredictable and diverse cross-section of genres on the charts this past year, with Mariah Carey, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Nickelback and the Black Eyed Peas leading the pack with three nods each.

Meanwhile, Mary J. Blige, Kelly Clarkson, Eminem, Jamie Foxx, Pussycat Dolls, Rascal Flatts, T.I., Carrie Underwood and Kanye West all garnered two.

As for Electra, her excitement comes from not only the music, but her co-announcer as well. Rumors are swirling that Rihanna was the inspiration behind Beyonce’s new single “Ring The Alarm.” On the track, Beyonce shouts: “Ring the Alarm! I’ve been doin’ this too long. But I’ll be damned if I see another chick on your arm.”

Some believe that the words are directed at Rihanna, who was rumored to be spending quality time with Beyonce’s boyfriend Jay-Z in New York while she was off filming Dreamgirls in L.A. It might be good timing on Beyonce’s part, as the Caribbean starlet plans to join Jay-Z on a 3-date tour of South Africa in October.

But the inspiration behind Beyonce’s “Ring The Alarm” may not be the biggest question. Some reports regarding the song have Beyonce fans wondering if the track will even be her next single at all.

After lukewarm reception from focus groups, Beyonce’s management group has reportedly decided to nix the fiery track and go with Swizz Beatz “Get Me Bodied” or The Neptunes' “Green Light” as the second single, according to rap-up.com.

A video for “Ring The Alarm” has already been shot and was scheduled for release on Yahoo! Music this week. However, the video has since been removed from the site’s list of “Upcoming Premiers.”

Beyonce is scheduled to perform the song at the MTV Video Music Awards on August 31.

Singer and actress Hilary Duff took the stage of Crown Coliseum here Tuesday night in a free concert for military families.

Hilary Duff, the multi-platinum recording artist and star of movies such as "A Cinderella Story," performed "Hilary Duff Rocks for the Troops" in Fayetteville, home of Fort Bragg.

Those in attendance were either in the military or have a military family member. Duff has previously made a block of tickets available for military families but decided this time to perform just for them.

Hilary Duff met with a select group of military families before the show, snapping pictures and shaking hands. More than 7,000 people attended the concert.

Drummers pounding out a frenetic beat danced around the steps before Shakira emerged to sing her current hit Hips Don't Lie.

Fans of both teams mingled in the evening sunshine outside the stadium before the game, many in the blue shirts of their teams and some sporting Mohican-style wigs in national colours which have been a big hit at this World Cup.

Supporters from many other nations were also enjoying the build-up, including Scots in their kilts and Mexicans sporting sombreros. Flags draped inside the stadium reflected an array of countries from Australia through to China and Poland.

Despite the international feel, the event retained a German flavour, with fans munching on bratwurst sausages and pretzels.

French fancy video for Mariah

Pop siren Mariah Carey has illuminated the City of Light by shooting her latest video in Paris.

The French capital played host to the shoot for her latest single Say Something with rapper Pharrel Williams making an appearance.

The shoot took in the Petit Palais, and the city's most beautiful landmarks, such as Place de la Concorde and the Champs Elysees.

A scene will be shot at the luxury shop Louis Vuitton on the Champs Elysees.

Mariah has enjoyed a musical comeback with her latest album, 'The emancipation of Mimi, which was the biggest selling release in the US last year and she won three Grammy awards in February

With her musical comeback now taking on near legendary status, Mariah Carey is turning her attention back to the silver screen.

The singer, who was last seen in the box office bomb Glitter, has signed on to play a waitress in the indie film Tennessee. ITV

Aguilera talks about new album

Songstress Christina Aguilera is stripping her bad girl image to make room for a classic, soulful look for her upcoming album.

The 25-year-old pop singer revealed her "old-soul sound" inspiration for her as-yet-unnamed follow-up to 2002's "Stripped" last week in London.

"Some of the songs are kept authentic, sticking to a really raw, old-soul sound, where others combine elements of old blues, jazz and soul with a hard modern-day edge, Aguilera told Billboard.com.

The album is expected to be released sometime this summer.

Aguilera is in London to begin a nine-month marketing campaign to promote the European partnership between the telecom company Orange and the cell phone maker powerhouse Sony Ericsson. Jam.Canoe

Three 6 Mafia will make Oscar history this Sunday, March 5, when they perform the first rap song ever at the 78th Academy Awards.

The Memphis rap group's theme from Hustle & Flow, "It's Hard Out Here For A Pimp," is nominated for Best Song From A Motion Picture. Although the song was originally rapped by actor Terrence Howard in the movie, on the Oscar telecast it will be performed by Three 6 Mafia's Jordon "Juicy J" Houston and Paul "DJ Paul" Beauregard, who wrote the song, along with bandmate Darnell "Crunchy Black" Carlton and Hustle & Flow actress Taraji Henson.

Howard claims a lack of time to rehearse is what is preventing him from performing himself, although it is assumed that he will attend the Oscar ceremony, as he is nominated for Best Actor for his portrayal of pimp-turned-rapper Djay in the film.

"It's Hard Out Here For A Pimp" will be the first rap song ever performed in the history of the Academy Awards. Eminem's 8 Mile theme "Lose Yourself" did win the Best Song Oscar in 2003, but Eminem was not present to either perform or accept his award.AP via Yahoo

Mariah Carey wons two awards, best female album and best female single at the Soul Train Music Awards.

Mariah Carey who won three Grammys last month - picked up the honours for her album 'The Emancipation of Mimi' and the song 'We Belong Together' at the 20th annual awards ceremony.

Mariah said: "This has been the biggest and most successful year of my life."

The beautiful star staged a comeback last year after her career took a downturn following a series of debacles that included a contract buy-out by Virgin Records.

Honorary awards went to Stevie Wonder, Jamie Foxx and Destiny's Child.
